The Line’s Youth Guides are local young people aged 18–25 who have been employed and trained to share the stories, histories and creative highlights of East London. Drawing on their own experiences of the area, they offer fresh perspectives on the region’s heritage, public art, waterways and natural landscape, while introducing visitors to the artists and ideas behind The Line.
On Sunday 13 September, the Youth Guides will lead three tours exploring artworks and locations along The Line across Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Hackney Wick.
The first two tours will focus on artworks within the Park, while the final tour will follow The Line towards Hackney Wick, ending at The Yard Theatre.
Tour times
1–2pm – Olympic Park artworks
3–4pm – Olympic Park artworks
5–6pm – Olympic Park to Hackney Wick, ending at The Yard Theatre
How to join
No registration or booking required. Meet at the Festival Information Point next to London College of Fashion, UAL, at least 5 minutes before your chosen tour start time. First-come first-served, with a maximum of 30 people per tour.
Please note the guides won’t accompany participants back from Hackney Wick after the 5–6pm tour.
About The Music is Black Festival
A celebration of sound, culture and community, led by the artists, creators and collectives who build its legacy and shape what’s next. Black to the Future (12–13 September) is the genre-bending closing weekend of East Bank’s Music is Black Festival – free and un-ticketed, open to all across Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Access Information
The tour route stays on paved, step-free paths through Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The 5–6pm tour continues over the bridge into Hackney Wick and ends at The Yard Theatre.
