Aamad

London City Island, Botanic Square, E14 0LG

Wednesday 13th July, 4pm

Aamad is a collaborative dance work choreographed by English National Ballet Associate Artist, Kirsten Ho, and Akademi Associate Artist, Parbati Chaudhury, and performed by students from Mulberry School for Girls and St Angela’s Ursuline School.

This captivating ensemble work is inspired by artist Rana Begum’s sculptural installation, No. 1104 Catching Colour, curated by The Line at London City Island. Aamad is a creative response that brings together kathak, ballet and contemporary dance, and celebrates culture, community and contrast. With live music composed and played by tabla player Gurdain Singh Rayatt and flautist Praveen Prathapan; Aamad presents an offering of emotive moments of reflection, ritual and release.

Participating schools: Mulberry School for Girls, Tower Hamlets and St Angela’sUrsuline School, Newham.

This project is produced by The Line in collaboration with English National Ballet and Akademi.

Tickets are free but spaces are limited. Please book via Eventbrite.
