Inside Out: Resilience Walk

Workshop10/10/22

Back

A creative walk in East London led by artists Ishwari Bhalerao and Sheyamali Sudesh.

Join artists Ishwari Bhalerao and Sheyamali Sudesh on a resilience plant walk. By taking a creative approach to walking, Sheyamali and Ishwari will focus on the plants growing along the urban environment of the route, especially those with healing properties. The plants and their locations become reference points to discuss how walking can be a creative and connecting art practice.

This event is part of a three-day public programme, Inside Out: Public Art, Nature and Mental Wellbeing. Inside Out builds on Madge Gill: Nature in Mind, a multi-site exhibition of the late Newham-based artist’s work and a series of creative workshops in collaboration with Mind. Focusing on the link between nature and mental health, The Line seeks to facilitate dialogues between artists, cultural organisations, and mental health specialists through an engaging three-day programme that consists of creative activities, site visits and a roundtable discussion.

This programme would not have been possible without the support of our partners and funders, London Metropolitan University, Mind Tower Hamlets and Newham, National Lottery Heritage Fund, St William, Royal Docks Team, London Borough of Newham, London Legacy Development Cooperation and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
