Aquatics Centre

The Aquatics Centre was designed by Zaha Hadid Architects.

When construction began, an Iron Age settlement was discovered on the site. It included an ancient burial ground with four skeletons. The remains are thought to be up to 3,000 years old.

Other remains found nearby show that these early Londoners lived in circular, thatched huts and fished in the River Lea.
