2012 Gardens

120,000 flowers and plants have been planted in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

At the southern end of the Park are the 2012 Gardens, which pay tribute to Britain’s history of exploration, trade and plant collecting and their impact on the great horticultural diversity and variety of British gardens.

The Gardens are divided into four climatic zones, each draws upon the ecological character of habitats found in the wild: Europe, North America, Southern Hemisphere and Asia.

Look out for bright pink echinacea from North America, long-stemmed Purple Loosestrife native to Europe and Asia, and the jolly pineapple lily from South Africa.
