Kingfisher

A kingfisher is regularly spotted around Cody Dock. Sightings are frequent enough to suggest that it might be breeding locally, maybe even in the Cody reed beds.

Kingfishers like still or slow-flowing water so the dock and navigation are ideal. Distinctive with their bright blue and orange plumage, they fly quickly just above the surface of the water, hunting fish and insects from riverside perches.
